When you come to the studio for your first visit, you will need to fill complete your client profile on MindBody and sign our waiver. Please let the teacher (usually the person at the desk) know whether you’ve done yoga before. If you don't have your own mat, you can rent one of our Jade studio mats.

Our fees are as follows:

If you are on class-packs, forfeiture of one class out of your class packs.

If you purchased a drop-in, forfeiture of that class.

We start and end our classes on time - late arrivals are highly discouraged and you may not be able to get in because  we lock the studio doors at the start of class for safety.

If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to contact us via email. We appreciate your understanding!

ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!

Giving Tree    Yoga teachers pride themselves on being able to teach anything to anyone, regardless of experience or skill level. Please visit our class description page and pick the class best suited for your  experience level.   You can always reach out and ask us if you are unsure  by  emailing Karina@givingtreeyogasmyrna.com. we realize that it is common for  some to feel  slightly awkward coming into a new space and trying new things--even students who have been practicing yoga for years.

If you are brand new to yoga, please let your teacher know so we can offer some additional information to help you in your practice. Also, don't hesitate to ask questions after class. Our teachers love to help! Our classes are designed and taught according to class description and you should be prepared to make modifications as suggested by your teacher, to  rest  when necessary, and to go at your own pace. Yoga is a practice that is developed over time; it is not a competition or a race.  All that we ask is that you honor your body!!

SHOULD I EAT BEFORE CLASS?

Think "light".  Practicing yoga on an empty stomach may feel better and it's actually better for your body. If you do need something to quite or settle the stomach, try something small like nuts, bananas,  or an energy bar. Coconut water and fresh pressed juice are also great options!

YOGA ATTIRE & MATERIALS

We suggest that you wear comfortable clothes that allow for free, uninhibited movement.  You are more than welcome to rent    a studio mat (we just ask that you clean it after) or bring in your own mat. We also  recommend that you  are well hydrated prior to class. it is best for your system not to drink fluids during class and then hydrate again after class

ENTERING THE SPACE

Please leave all of your belongings in the cubbies and racks, ensure that your cell phone is on silent and please also leave it with your belongings in the lobby. We practice quiet conversation in the studio so please be respectful to others and keep  your conversations with fellow classmates and teachers quiet in the studio space.

POLICY FOR CHILDREN

Students must be  at least 16 to attend class and will require a parent or legal guardian to sign a waiver.

Studio Etiquette

ARRIVE EARLY

Getting to class 10 - 15 minutes ahead of time allows you to settle in and start relaxing. While waiting, you can practice a pose, stretch, or just breathe and center yourself. We start and end classes on time, and the  doors are locked once class starts.  We can  no longer admit  late arrivals to class. Please be respectful of your fellow yogis and arrive  with enough time to get settled before class begins.

LET US KNOW YOU'RE HERE
Please sign in at the front desk  every time you come to class. Let the teacher/person behind the desk know if you are new to the studio (you’ll need to complete a profile) and/or have physical issues of which we need to be aware. If you are brand new to yoga, no problem! Please let us know so we can give you some additional information that you might find helpful as you begin your yoga journey with us.

WHERE TO PUT YOUR THINGS
Leave everything outside the studio other than what you need for your practice. There are cubbies and racks in the lobby in which you can leave shoes, wallet/purse, cell phone, etc. We lock the door when class begins to ensure the safety of your belongings.

OBSERVE SILENCE IN THE STUDIO
The studio itself is a quiet place for those who are trying to slow down. Please be respectful of other students and observe quiet   time in the studio before class starts. Please, please, please silence or turn off your cell phones  (or even better - don't bring them in ). A cell phone on vibrate can still create quite a bit of noise and disruption to the class,.

No cell phones on the studio floor and please silence your smart watches too. Better still take them off to avoid being distracted

NEED TO LEAVE EARLY?
We discourage leaving early due to the disruption this causes at the end of class. We understand life happens so, Let us know if you need to leave early, position your mat close to an exit and please be sure to leave  quietly before Savasana begins. we are committed to creating  a peaceful and enjoyable environment for all of our students.

CLEAN UP
Please use the towels and or wipes we provide to mop up any sweat around your mat after class. In addition, if you rented   a mat, please clean it with the mat cleaner we provide.

YOGA IS NOT A COMPETITION!
Put your full intent into class, but detach yourself from the result. Always practice compassion with yourself to avoid strain or injury; no matter what your level, you will benefit from practicing your version of every pose!
