About
I want to help you find the union of mind-body-spirit that is the heart of yoga! I started doing yoga for the physical practice, but I kept coming back to my mat for the benefits I had no idea I would find. I found strength and flexibility in my physical body, which was my initial goal, but I also discovered a natural way to relieve tension & pain, an amazing awareness of my breath (and why that is so important), better posture, deeper sleep, a strengthened love of myself & others, and community of encouraging & inspiring people.
During classes, I encourage students to honor their bodies and to let go of ego. I offer many modifications and use props frequently. My focus is on safe alignment, breath, and feeling a pose in your body, rather than achieving some idea of a "perfect pose."
I received my 200-hour certification at Peachtree Yoga in Atlanta and my 500-hour and yoga therapy certifications at Etowah Valley Yoga in Cartersville. I have over 2500 hours of yoga teaching experience (as well as almost 20 years of teaching technology to children & adults). I am a teacher at heart.
